Moonee Valley Transfer Station

By far, this is the best transfer station I’ve ever been to. A lot of the other transfer stations I’ve visited have had lazy and grumpy staff. I had a really good experience here on 28/01/2026 at about 12 pm. The blonde lady with glasses was super nice and friendly. She took her time and explained where I needed to put the materials I had. I couldn’t be happier with how easy and pleasant the interaction was.

Price structure is based on profit and how the guy out the front feels, resident or not. Green waste is free for residents based on the size of your vehicle. I was quite literally told by the guy "go buy a station wagon and you can come back as many times as you want". The ladies are generally much nicer and more reasonable, the guy today was enjoying the little power he had, arguing the point with everyone that came through causing a traffic hold up.

As a local resident I brought over a boot load of green waste and was told by the friendly lady that I could have brought a station wagon load of green waste for free. So the next day I loaded a station wagon load and was greeted by a man at the booth who argued that its only a boot load of green waste that is for free. It also clearly states on the Web page that a station wagon load is free for local residents. I'm not sure if this guy is running a scam side hustle or needs appropriate training.

Went there today and found the staff so helpful and easy to deal with. The Transfer Station was the best set up and cleanest one I have ever been too. Keep up the great work.

My first visit to the site today. Cannot speak highly enough of the gentleman who greeted me in reception and the lady on the entrance gate, both incredibly welcoming and helpful. First Class Service.

This is a fantastic facility. Dropped off 2 television screens that could not be revived and needed a non keen side solution. Friendly staff and very easy to dispose of materials in the most environmentally beneficial way possible locally. Thank you for this service to Moonee Valley residents!
