When you ring up to get a price on materials and you get told $22 per tonne you think thats ok you then go to the window after only getting 750kg then to thats $40 please they don't tell you over the phone min charge is $40 try to save money and get ripped off by doing so not happy at all
Generally good prices and helpful staff. Like all tip shops, stock changing daily. Great place to offer up your unwanted items before proceeding into the tip proper and paying over $300/tonne (for mixed waste) for disposal. I rarely come home empty handed from the recycling shop.
A great place to take the whole family for a day out. Spend the day browsing through all the junk other people have discarded. Take a picnic basket and enjoy lunch at one of the tables on the grass overlooking the recycling centre while enjoying the delightful odours emanating from the steaming piles of refuse in the nearby centre. Sure, some say it's expensive, but a family day entry ticket to the tip is cheaper than a day at (for example) Luna Park and heaps more fun, especially if you bring rubbish with you. Here's a handy hint: take lots of glass bottles and exploding things with you when you visit. Throwing stuff that goes boom when it hits the concrete is so much fun.
Unfortunately there is a great disparity or complete lack of knowledge by the workers as what is advertised as recycling on the council's website is not accepted once at the tip face and erroneous charges are then charged to recycle. Hopefully this review is noted by council, and administrators of the waste facility to ensure everyone is on the same page.
I always find great treasures that help with my budget. The workers are very helpful. I love going there once a week and always find something I need. I rate this place 9 out of 10
What an absolute joke! They don’t allow you to unload a small box trailer with clean fill by shovel. What a waste of a drive
awesome bargain finds! ... real treasures found... worth the check out. Each visit is never a disappointment.
