Cleanaway Auburn Resource Recovery Centre

I have been using this place for more than 5 years. The truth is it is getting worse. It was one of the best place before staff changes (SUEZ was the best). A new guy (changed after lovely kind Asian Lady) is so rude. Making his own rules against customers. Even coming to truck and asking strange questions such as, does that work? Why are you throwing this? Even don’t know aluminium or steel differences. However, other branches such as, Rockdale and Artarmon, they are kind and friendly. They know their job very well and works much faster than this place.

The new minimum charge of $120 for less then 5kg of waste (oversized cardboard and polystyrene) is prohibitively expensive. Previously I used this place every other week and never cost more than $60 a trip. They made it so unless you have over 100kg of waste the cost is unreasonable (deliberately). It's designed to exclude the domestic customers, only applicable to business who typically have their own waste contractors so it literally is an increase that will only reduce business, not grown it. Even the staff were apologetic and thankfully tell you up front. They agreed it's ridiculous and they can't believe it has been made so expensive. Most people just leave, so many cars and utes just turning around and leaving each day since this came in. When the staff agree, advise its cheeper to just break it down at home and help customers leave via U turn in the centre because it's so overpriced then you know it's bad management top down.

Make visits here pretty frequently to get rid of alot of backed up recycling. One of the problems of having a shared recycling bin with another unit in our building. Luckily being able to give our recycling here is mostly free! (Some conditions apply). As long as you don't have styrofoam it's free 🙂

I had a disappointing experience at Auburn Cleanway today. In the morning, one of the staff told me to wait for an hour without giving any reason, but after about 10 minutes she allowed me to unload the truck. Later in the day, when I returned at 2:38 PM, they refused to take my truck load even though their website says they close at 4:00 PM. Some staff were quite rude and dismissive when I asked questions. Not everyone, but a few staff really need to improve their attitude and professionalism.

We drove out here after being told the waste centre in Rockdale is only taking tipping vehicles at this time. Thankfully this well organised spot is handling both tipping trucks and hand unloads. Very friendly lady at the weighing station yesterday morning and afternoon (21/08/2022). There was a slight queue when we arrived but moved fairly well (maybe 20-30 minute wait). Three vehicles are allowed in at a time, reverse to the barrier, and jump out to unload. Very therapeutic after a crazy weekend of moving.

The gentlemen called Trent was absolutely rude and ill mannered, he used inappropriate language and was very racial towards us and was provoking us, he had a racial stance towards us and lied to us saying he was the team leader and threatened to call the police on us when all we asked him was if anyone was at the centre. We recorded what we could of the incident on video as we felt unsafe. Very unhappy with the service provided to us. Other the lady the door was nice and asked us to return tomorrow.

Haha wow this place is a joke. Got told to wait to the side as there is only 1 pantech truck allowed to unload up the top at once. Was waiting for 30mins. Ended up driving out. What a joke. Don’t bother coming here, take your rubbish and money elsewhere. Go to Benedict’s.
